Modeling Behavior for Children

September 18, 2009 by ddunn

Modeling Behavior for ChildrenHow seriously do you take the Bible? If you read something about parent-child relations in the Bible that contradicts something you read in another book, which teaching do you accept as truth?

One of the principles we read about in the Bible is this, “Honor your father and mother that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God hath given you (Exodus 20:12).” You know, a lot of us adults make it pretty hard for kids to do that. The one key factor that will enable you to do the things you should is to make sure your spiritual life is in good condition. If you neglect it, you’ll grow cold, and that will leave you feeling sadly empty inside.

Steps to Contentment

September 6, 2009 by ddunn

Almost everyone who comes to my consulting room has been in pursuit of the advantages of life, but something or someone went wrong. Their contentment and sense of self-worth or self-respect has been shattered. If their self-respect and self-worth is intact, then the loss of contentment is attributed to the behavior of an offending person or to circumstances that have shifted to one’s disadvantage.
